MANILA (2nd UPDATE) - Mapua University on Thursday said it would conduct online classes following a bomb threat, which prompted the evacuation of students and faculty members at its Intramuros and Makati campuses.
A student was reported to have fainted during evacuation.
The Manila Police District said it received a reported bomb scare at the university at 10:10 a.m. and immediately dispatched its bomb squad to conduct a search.
Police later said it did not find any explosives at both campuses.
"Classes are suspended due to a reported bomb threat. Students and employees are required to vacate the Intramuros and Makati campus now. However, today will be considered as a DIGITAL DAY. All classes will be conducted online," it said.
The university's Intramuros campus last year also received a bomb threat, along with the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and the Lyceum of the Philippines University.
