MANILA - Davao cops are set to be reassigned to Caloocan City after around 1,000 policemen were relieved from their duties last week.

The entire police force was relieved from duty following the deaths of Caloocan teens Kian delos SantosCarl Angelo Arnaiz, Reynaldo de Guzman, and Michael Remecio.

Delos Santos and Arnaiz, both said to have been found in possession of illegal drugs, were killed in separate incidents after they allegedly fought back against pursuing police.

Circumstances surrounding the death of De Guzman, Arnaiz's companion when he left his Cainta, Rizal home on Aug. 17, meanwhile, remain unclear.

He was found in Nueva Ecija with multiple stab wounds, his head wrapped in packing tape.

PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos said the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management will issue an order regarding the new mandate.

"Parang rotation lang, reassignment ng mga officer rank, ipi-fill up din. We will look at where the personnel will be coming from to fill up the manpower need of Davao. Mukhang hindi naman lahat yan ano, yung core members then officers that would assist the current OIC [Officer in Charge], si Senior Superintendent Modequillo dito sa Caloocan PNP," Carlos said.
"'Yung transfer, movements ng mga personnel to replace Caloocan PNP, hintayin natin yung order. Ipapakuha ko po yan for the effectivity and also yung kanilang magiging movement para we can also cover the arrival and departure also from the unit kung saan sila manggagaling," he added.

Carlos said Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Dir. Gen. Ronald Dela Rosa has high regard for the Davao Police.

"I think it's the trust and confidence of the Chief PNP sa Davao PNP, dahil alam niya paano magtrabaho ang Davao PNP. Ganon din naman yung iba nating police units. It's not the entire Caloocan PNP that are doing all these, 'yung involvement dito sa teen deaths cases," Carlos said.

He added that Dela Rosa has also opened the invitation to other policemen who wish to be reassigned to Caloocan.

"The Chief PNP also opened Caloocan for those who are interested so baka meron diyang willing to be detailed or assigned to the Caloocan PNP, pag-aaralan naman kung yung background nitong PNP personnel that gave their intention to be detailed or assigned or transferred to Caloocan PNP," Carlos said.
