LA UNION – Mayor Reynaldo Flores was again labeled as a “high value target” in a new list of local officials tagged in illegal drugs.

The list was handed over by President Rodrigo Duterte during his visit in the Philippine Army’s 5th Infantry Division at Camp Melchor Dela Cruz in Gamu, Isabela.

Flores said he was expecting that the investigation was going well but to his surprise, he was named anew.

“There’s a divine intervention here. Parang ginaguide ng Diyos si Presidente na mai-announce ulit ‘yung pangalan ko at inemphasize ako as high value target," Flores said.

(I think there is divine intervention here. It is as if God is guiding President Duterte to announce my name anew and emphasize that I am a high value target.)

Flores said he believes the discovery of Bimmotobot Shabu Laborotary in Naguilian, La Union in 2008 landed him on the list.

“Wala akong alam na ibang dahilan dahil under investigation ako ng mga pulis. Positibo ako na itong nangyaring pag-mention ni presidente eh magsusupport sa pagrere-open ng Bimmotobot Shabu Laboratory. Every time my name is mentioned, Bimmotobot [shabu laboratory] is mentioned," Flores said.

(I think the reason why I am under investigation is because of the Bimmotobot Shabu Laboratory. Every time my name is mentioned, Bimmotobot [shabu laboratory] is mentioned.)

Flores remains optimistic amid the issue.

Investigation on the involvement of narcopoliticians is left to the regional director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Region 1, said PNP Chief Ronald Dela Rosa during the 115th PNP Anniversary in La Union.
