PNP chief, nasa 80 pang opisyal nagpa-drug test

MAYNILA — Sumalang sa on-the-spot drug test si Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. at halos 90 iba pang opisyal ng pulisya bilang bahagi ng internal cleansing sa kanilang hanay. 

Kabilang sa sumailalim sa drug test sa Camp Crame ang mga opisyal mula sa PNP Command Group, Directorial Staff, Regional Directors, at National Support Unit Directors. 
 
Ayon sa PNP Public Information Office, itinaon ang on-the-spot drug test sa command conference noong Biyernes. 

Batay sa resulta ng test na isinagawa ng PNP Forensic Group, negatibo sa droga ang lahat ng opisyal. 

"This surprise drug test underscores the PNP's unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct among its members," ani Acorda. 

"It also serves as a clear message that the organization is resolute in its efforts to combat illegal drugs and ensure the integrity of its leadership," dagdag niya.

Sa tala ng PNP, mula Enero hanggang Agosto 31, nasa 25 pulis na ang nagpositibo sa confirmatory drug tests, kabilang na si dating Mandaluyong police chief Col. Cesar Gerente.

Sa 25 na nagpositibo sa confirmatory drug tests, 8 na ang nas-dismiss, 1 ang nag-resign, habang ang iba ay sumasailalim pa sa summary hearing proceedings.
