MANILA - The Professional Regulation Commission on Tuesday announced the new schedule for the board exams for physicians that was postponed last weekend due to the onslaught of Typhoon Mangkhut.
The commission, in a meeting today, agreed to hold the Physicians Licensure Examination (PLE) on October 27 to 28, over a month after its original September 15 and 16 schedule, said PRC Licensure Office Head Rea Garcia.
Some 4,600 examinees took the first part of the PLE in Manila, Baguio, Cebu and Davao City last September 8 and 9, she said.
Mangkhut, the strongest typhoon so far this year, also prompted the postponement of the University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT), for which a new schedule has yet to be announced.
The typhoon sent tens of thousands to evacuation centers, left at least 74 dead and swamped large tracts of farmlands in northern Luzon.
