ILOCOS NORTE – A trainee at a call center firm was shot dead at his residence in Barangay Capasan, Dingras town in this province on Friday evening.

Police said Bobby Danao, 29, had just finished feeding his dog when he was shot at close range several times by motorcycle-riding men.

The victim's cousin, Melendrina Lacno, heard the gunmen looking for a fortune teller before shooting Danao.

The fortune teller was Danao's cousin, who lived with the victim in the house.

Danao was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. He sustained gunshot wounds to his neck and chest.

Police have launched an investigation to identify the gunmen and determine their motives.

The victim’s family revealed that they had received a call a few months ago claiming Danao’s alleged involvement in illegal activities.
