#WalangPasok: Palace suspends govt work in 3 typhoon-hit regions

MANILA - Malacañang on Tuesday suspended work in government offices in Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Calabarzon due to inclement weather. 

The Office of the Executive Secretary made the announcement upon the recommendation of the disaster council, Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said in a statement. 

Work in all courts in Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Calabarzon were also suspended, the Supreme Court announced. 

Tropical Depression "Maring" has been dumping heavy rains in large swaths of Luzon, triggering floods in some low-lying areas. 
The cyclone is expected to make landfall over the Quezon- Aurora area Tuesday afternoon. 

It was last spotted 80 km north of Daet, Camarines Norte, packing maximum winds of up to 55 kilometer per hour near the center and gusts of up to 65 kph. 

The bad weather has forced the cancellation of classes in some areas.
