Ouster plot

President Rodrigo Duterte himself said there are three groups that are conniving to oust him: the "yellow: groups, including the Liberal Party, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and the communist politburo. All three have denied the accusation. The Senate will have a hearing on the national security situation at 9 a.m. Issues such destabilization and the overthrow of the Duterte government could be discussed.

Court martial

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said it has put court martial proceedings against Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on hold until the Supreme Court rules on a petition by the senator to block the withdrawal of his amnesty. At the same time, AFP Public Affairs Office chief Col. Noel Detoyato was quoted as saying a court martial can take custody of a reprieved soldier once his amnesty is lifted. Former Defense Undersecretary Honorario Azcueta has said Trillanes complied with the requirements for his amnesty. DOLE Undersecretary Jerome Paras has threatened to file a sedition case against Trillanes. He will be guest on ANC’s Headstart. Presidential Legal Counsel Sal Panelo will also be guest on ANC’s Early Edition to talk about the Trillanes case.

Rice and shine

With the recent rice supply issues and rising prices of goods and vegetables, the Department of Agriculture will face the Senate on its 2018 budget at 9 a.m. There have been calls for the resignation of Agriculture Secretary Manny Pinol and officials of the National Food Authority (NFA). In Bukidnon on Sunday, Pinol maintained there is no rice crisis and urged farmers to plant more vegetables. Former Agriculture Secretary and now Rep. Arthur Yap will be guest on ANC’s Early Edition.

Inflating inflation

ANC will get hold of experts on President Duterte’s claims US President Donald Trump is to blame for our high inflation. Sen. Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan already blasted the President for this statement. Pangilinan said that if the President’s claim were true, many other countries would have high inflation.

Perfect storm

ANC will be tracking Typhoon Mangkhut which has the capability of becoming a super typhoon. It is projected to pass Guam, Marianas and Saipan early this week and enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday. The projected track for now will see the system hit the eastern part of northern Luzon.
