BAGUIO CITY - A 33-year-old alleged drug user was shot dead in Lourdes Subdivision in Baguio City at around 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
The victim, identified as Franklin Bambico, was with his pregnant partner when he was killed by unidentified gunmen.
Bambico’s partner said they bought food at the local market and were about to go inside the car when Bambico was shot. She did not see the perpetrators.
Bambico sustained a gunshot wound in the head.
"Consistent naman na one gunshot lang 'yung narinig. Walang nakitang basyo ng bala, maaaring revolver ang ginamit" said medico legal officer Dr. Rodrigo Leal.
(The wound was consistent with witness accounts that there was only one gunshot heard. There was no shell casing recovered. Perhaps a revolver was used.)
Bambico was among drug suspects who previously surrendered to the police. He allegedly admitted he had been using drugs since he was young but has stopped in 2014.
He was undergoing community rehabilitation.
