MANILA - Malacañang on Saturday thanked Filipinos for their continued confidence in President Rodrigo Duterte amid a "challenging time."

"We thank our people for their continuing vote of confidence for President Rodrigo Roa Duterte during this challenging time," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.

Roque also said regardless of ratings, Duterte would continue focusing on his job.

"The Palace views the latest survey results with humility; however, we have to take note that regardless of ratings, the President remains focused on his job of governing the nation. Much remains to be done, especially in assisting the poor, vulnerable and severely hungry families," he said.

Duterte's net trust rating remained "very good," even as it dropped in the second quarter of 2018, a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey revealed Friday.

The ratings drop came amid soaring inflation, which has consumers feeling the pinch due to rising prices of food staples.

Duterte received a plus-57 net trust rating in June 2018, an 8-point drop from the plus-65 rating in March 2018.
