ILOCOS SUR – A 28-year-old farmer was stabbed to death in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur over the weekend when a homeowner allegedly caught him looking through the window.
Investigators said Louie Taberna was allegedly peering through a window into the master's bedroom of a house in Barangay Turod-Patac owned by suspect Rowel Valoroso.
Valoroso was watching television with his wife and daughter when he heard their dog barking. When he looked outside, he saw Taberna and allegedly stabbed the farmer several times using a knife that was at least a foot long.
Taberna, who authorities believe was under the influence of liquor, died while receiving medical attention.
"Palagi niya kasing ginagawa, kaya hindi na ako nakapagpigil," Valoroso said when asked why he attacked the victim.
According to Cabugao police chief Senior Inspector Ramil Llarenas, they also received information that the victim also frequented the Valoroso home supposedly to court the suspect’s wife.
A murder case has been filed against Valoroso, who is currently in the custody of Cabugao police.
As of this writing, the victim’s family have yet to give any statements regarding the incident.
