LAGUNA – A Chinese man managed to escape from his abductors in Laguna after he was kidnapped on Wednesday morning.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Region 4 Police Director Chief Superintendent Valfrie Tabian identified the victim as 28-year-old Kun Liang Cao, a native of Xichuan City presently residing in Makati City.

According to Kun, an employee of Manila-based Gee Pacific Corp., he was forcibly taken by four Chinese-looking men from his apartment in Makati and shoved inside a Mercedes Benz with a Philippine National Police (PNP) commemorative plate.

Kun said, while he was inside the car, his abductors threatened him with death if he failed to return P14 million allegedly owned by Gee Pacific Corp.

Kun said they were headed towards Laguna province via the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) when he managed to jump from the car while it was stopped at the Calamba Toll Plaza.

Kun was able to run and ask for assistance from Highway Patrol Group (HPG) officers stationed at the toll plaza.

He was unhurt.

The alleged abductors fled towards Laguna, prompting the CALABARZON police to conduct a hot pursuit operation against the suspects.

Police are investigating the incident and are attempting to identify Kun's alleged abductors.
