MANILA—A 4.9-magnitude earthquake shook parts of Batangas, the Phivolcs said Friday.
The quake struck at 6:32 p.m. approximately 18 kilometers northwest of Calatagan town, Batangas with a depth of 87 km.
The temblor was tectonic in origin, the Phivolcs said.
Below are areas where the quake was felt:
Intensity III - Tagaytay City; Zamboanga del Norte
Intensity II - Mandaluyong City; Muntinlupa City
Intensity I - Talisay, Batangas; Quezon City
Meanwhile, instrumental intensities were also felt in the areas listed below:
Intensity IV - Puerto Galera; Oriental Mindoro
Intensity II- Tagaytay City; Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro
Intensity I- San Jose, Occidental Mindoro; Olongapo City; Talisay, Batangas
Damage to structure and aftershocks were not expected, the Phivolcs said.
