MANILA - Three alleged members of a Chinese loanshark syndicate were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a fellow Chinese in Parañaque City.
According to authorities, Zhen Jin Song, 23, was playing baccarat in a casino establishment last August 26, when the suspects -- identified as Wu Kun, Ling Yanqing, and Xia Yugui -- approached him and offered to lend him money.
Zhen borrowed P200,000 from the suspects under the condition that he would be able to pay 20 percent interest for every winning bet.
Zhen, however, lost all his money. The suspects then detained him in a condominium in Barangay Tambo.
The victim paid 28,300 Chinese yuan, or at least P206,500. But Zhen, police said, was able to contact a friend to ask for help.
Authorities immediately went to the condominium and rescued Zhen before arresting the suspects, who will be facing Kidnapping with Serious Illegal Detention charges.
