MANILA - Two Korean fugitives were recently nabbed by authorities at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the Bureau of Immigration said in a statement, Friday.

The suspects were identified as 26-year-old Kim Sung Wan, who was about to board a flight to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and 53-year-old Kim Sung Young, who arrived from Saigon, Vietnam.

Both suspects are facing fraud charges in their home country, according to the Immigration's statement.

The 26-year-old was intercepted at the NAIA Terminal 3 last August 14, while the other one was arrested 2 days after, Immigration Port Operations Chief Grifton Medina said.

"The passengers were apprehended after their names appeared in the registered BI Interpol database, which is linked with the bureau’s computer system, showing that they have derogatory records," his statement read.

The fugitives were deported to Seoul after Immigration officials coordinated with the Korean Embassy in Manila.
