MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday vowed to develop a friendly environment for business as he sought more investments for his home region Mindanao.
The President said this as he graced the launch of the Azuela Cove in Davao City, a project of the Aviana Development Corporation, a joint venture of the Alcantara Group of Companies and Ayala Land, Inc.
The P20-billion 25-hectare mixed-use estate in Lanang district is seen to further cement Davao City’s image as a key investment destination in Mindanao.
“I assure our private partners that the government has taken measures to ensure that you can do business with ease. We intend to establish an environment that is more conducive for new investments to prosper and for existing businesses to expand and grow,” Duterte said in his speech.
Ayala Land said that besides high-end residential units, Azuela Cove will also have a state-of-the-art St. Luke's Hospital, a retail center, an events tent and sports facilities.
The project is expected to draw additional investments and generate about 13,000 jobs within the next 8 to 10 years, about half of which are intended for construction.
“With confidence from our investors, Azuela Cove is expected to boost commercial activity in the city as it will bring more jobs for the people of Davao City and its nearby neighborhoods,” Duterte said.
“This property development will further define the city as a thriving hub in Mindanao,” he said.
