MANILA - State weather bureau PAGASA on Thursday said tropical depression "Jolina" has slightly intensified, with signal no. 1 hoisted over Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Northern Aurora.
In its 11 p.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said signal no. 1 may be also be raised over Ilocos provinces, La Union, Abra and Benguet.
It added that Jolina has maximum sustained winds of up to 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 65 kph.
As of 10 p.m., the center of the tropical cyclone was spotted at 430 km east southeast of Casiguran, Aurora.
Jolina is forecast to move west northwest at 17 kph and is expected to make landfall over Northern Luzon by Friday evening or early Saturday morning.
PAGASA said moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected over the Bicol region and most parts of Luzon on Friday.
