When a necklace she was wearing broke for no apparent reason, Kris Aquino felt a shiver of foreboding.
She thought of it as an ugly premonition over the health of her brother, ex-president Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, who missed the rites commemorating their father's death anniversary because of what was said to be a stomach flu this Wednesday.
Given this worry, Kris was eager to do everything to, at the very least, relieve Noynoy of any of the stress she herself might have caused him. This includes ending her spat with Mar Roxas.
During the rites, Kris called for Roxas, a long-standing political ally of her brother, to join her for a picture.
"I want Noy to see this para gumaling na siya," she said. "Please join me and let's take a picture so Noy sees it."
She then told Roxas: "I'm sorry for everything that happened. I can publicly say it: Nagselos ako because I felt like Noy choose you over me. But I hope we can let bygones be bygones."
It was back in April when Kris criticized Roxas' campaign manager for supposedly blaming their defeat in the 2016 presidential elections on their ties with the Liberal Party and Noynoy.
