MANILA—A police official was shot dead by his subordinate inside his office in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City late Monday afternoon.
Police Maj. Emerson Palomares, commanding officer of the Special Action Force (SAF) of the Philippine National Police (PNP), was declared dead at the Parañaque Doctors Hospital.
Police Master Sgt. Sanwright Lobhoy was immediately arrested after the incident and is under the custody of SAF.
Police Col. Alex Santos, chief of police of Taguig City, told ABS-CBN News they received a report that a shooting incident took place between a police official and a non-commissioned officer inside Bagong Camp Diwa past 5 p.m.
"Sabi sa report, pinagalitan nitong si Major Palomares si Sergeant Lobhoy," he said.
Santos said they are still trying to determine the motive behind the incident.—Report from Kevin Manalo, ABS-CBN News
