MANILA - Brother Armin Luistro, FSC, is inviting the public to offer a minute of silence every night for Kian Loyd Delos Santos, a Grade 11 student killed in anti-drug police operations in Caloocan.

Luistro, president of De La Salle Philippines, said he is calling for a minute of silence every 8:24 p.m., the time stamp on the CCTV footage showing Delos Santos being dragged by two men.

"May I propose a minute of silence every night at 8:24 pm to remember Kian Loyd Delos Santos and all innocent victims of merciless deaths in our land," he said.

The former Department of Education Secretary also wrote a prayer that may be recited at 8:25 p.m.

"We beg that the Lord grant us a compassionate heart so we may not grow callous and indifferent at these countless deaths," the prayer reads.

Delos Santos died in an alleged gunfight with the police. But a CCTV footage shows he was forcibly dragged by two men before he was killed.

The Palace described what happened as an isolated case. PNP chief Director General Ronald Bato Dela Rosa vowed a probe on the matter.

The chief of the Caloocan City police has already been relieved, along with three other cops. -- report from Ernie Manio, ABS-CBN News
