MANILA- The family of slain 17-year-old Kian Loyd Delos Santos may be placed under the Witness Protection Program due to alleged threats to their security.

Saldy Delos Santos, father of the slain teen, said their neighbors have been receiving threats to scare the witnesses of his son's death.

The Delos Santos family met with Sen. Risa Hontiveros on Saturday morning to discuss the possibility of tackling the issue at the Senate.

Hontiveros has also requested for a certified true copy of the CCTV footage.

Kian was killed in an anti-illegal drug raid in Caloocan City last Wednesday after police claimed that the teen attempted to shoot authorities, prompting cops to fire back.

A surveillance footage in the area however suggested otherwise.

The footage showed 2 cops accompanying the teen to the spot where the latter was killed. A witness also said that the police beat up Kian and gave him a gun before he was told to run for his life.

Metro Manila police chief, Director Oscar Albayalde has vowed an impartial investigation into the incident that stirred public outrage.
