LEYTE - The tough-talking chief of police of Albuera, Leyte, who has issued stern warnings against alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, has seemed to mellow down.

Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido said he wants the younger Espinosa to surrender alive.

"Hindi na kita babarilin, Kerwin," (I will no longer shoot you, Kerwin), he said.

He encouraged Espinosa to cooperate with police and name the generals and other officials of the PNP and AFP who are receiving drug money.

Espenido said Espinosa is probably just somewhere in the country. The police chief believes Espinosa will surrender soon.
