CEBU CITY - Road rage suspect David Lim Jr. on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to frustrated homicide.

Lim was accompanied by his relatives during his arraignment at Branch 5 of the Cebu City Regional Trial Court.

The complainant, Ephraim Nuñal, wasn't able to attend the court proceeding as he was still recuperating from the gunshot wound he sustained in the incident last March.

Ephraim's relatives said they are satisfied that the case will finally proceed.

The arraignment had been moved twice after the court granted Lim's camp's petition for preliminary Investigation before the Prosecutor's Office, but later withdrew this legal remedy.

The court has set a pre-trial conference for the case.

However, it has yet to schedule an arraignment for a charge of illegal possession of ammunition against Lim.

Lim claimed self-defense when he fired a gun after a traffic altercation with Nuñal last March.

Nuñal said he honked his car horn at Lim after the latter stopped his Mercedes Benz in the middle of the road.

Their argument escalated into a fistfight that ended with Lim shooting Nuñal on his leg.
