A lone robber took more than P400,000 in donations from St. Joseph the Patriarch convent in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City on Sunday night.
The priests and the workers of the parish were all shocked to find one of the staff with serious bruises and wounds all over her face and body.
The injured staff was a former nun, who had kept the key to the office at the convent.
Based on police investigation, at about 10 p.m., the ex-nun was attacked by the robber.
The robber's intention was to get the keys to the office where the collected donations from the Masses done on Sunday were kept.
Over P400,000 in cash was taken by the robber. He left the keys by the stairs.
According to investigators, the victim was able to identify the suspect as Alexander Lumapac.
Cops believe that the suspected had intended to kill the church worker since she was able to recognize him.
The robber left the crime scene thinking he had killed the woman.
The police are now looking for the suspect.
