MARAWI - Seven soldiers wounded in the first week of the battle for this conflict-torn city have already recovered and are ready to go back on duty.

Among these soldiers is 2nd Lt. Nick James Cabrera, who sustained wounds after he was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade as he fought Maute terrorists at Dansalan College.

Cabrera admits he is a little bit nervous to return to the field but said he really wants to go back and fight alongside his fellow soldiers and defeat the ISIS-linked Maute group.

Meanwhile, 1st Lt. Rhoy Lanzar, who was also hit by a rocket-propelled grenade, said he is going back to the battlefield to fulfill his duty as a soldier.

Lanzar is wearing his uniform torn by the grenade that hit him as a sign that he is ready to face the terrorists again.

As of August 10, Thursday, the military has recorded a total of 725 fatalities, including 552 terrorists, 128 state troopers, and 45 civilians killed.-- Report from Jeff Hernaez, ABS-CBN News
