MANILA – (UPDATED) Weather bureau PAGASA warned of heavy rain in several areas in Luzon Saturday morning, and told the public to be prepared for possible flooding.
In its 12 p.m. update on Saturday, PAGASA issued an Orange Warning for Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Quezon City, Manila City, Zambales, Pampanga, and Bulacan, due to heavy rain brought by the southwest monsoon (habagat).
A Yellow Warning, meanwhile, was issued for the rest of Metro Manila, Rizal, Nueva Ecija, Bataan and Tarlac.
Residents were warned to expect possible flooding in low-lying areas.
A thunderstorm, meanwhile, is likely to develop over Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Albay, Cebu, Northern Mindanao and the Davao region within 12 hours.
"The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions, monitor weather conditions," PAGASA said.
