MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has rolled out summary dismissal proceedings for 116 policemen who tested positive for drugs in a confirmatory test.
Senior Supt. Faustino Manzanilla, executive officer of the PNP Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management, said Thursday the 116 personnel are already subject for dismissal.
They may also face criminal and administrative charges, Manzanilla said.
A total of 75,964 PNP personnel were subjected to mandatory drug testing nationwide as of August 10, Wednesday.
Thirty-four PNP personalities tagged in President Duterte's list of "narco-officials" also underwent initial and confirmatory drug tests, Manzanilla said.
"They're currently being investigated by IAS (PNP Internal Affairs Service)," he said.
