MANILA - Officials received a bomb threat in Cebu City Thursday morning, which later turned out to be a hoax.
The city council and other local officials received a text claiming explosions will rock the Cebu City hall, La Nueva Supermart and the Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño at 11:30 a.m.
Authorities inspected the area, but found no bombs.
Councilor Dave Tumulak, chairperson of the local peace and order committee, urged pranksters to stop disseminating false information on bomb threats, an act punishable under the Anti-Bomb Joke Law.
Transactions at the city hall meanwhile were not hampered by the bomb scare.
