MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte has raised a P2 million individual bounty to get "dead or alive" several policemen allegedly involved in the drug trade and the slay of civilians in Ozamiz City.
“[There] are policemen who are now shortlisted in the killing of so many civilians buried in the cemetery there at the back of the barangay hall,” Duterte said, referring to the mass grave in Ozamiz City being linked to the erstwhile influential political clan, the Parojinogs.
The President said he wanted the cops allegedly in cahoots with the Parojinogs “dead or alive.” He did not say how many were on the list.
“You are free to go on leave,” he said.
“Better be dead because I have to pay for the funeral parlor. That is an added expense,” said the President, who is otherwise protective of police officers who carry out his anti-drug campaign.
Duterte also said he would visit Ozamiz City soon to confront policemen who allegedly served the interests of the Parojinogs.
“I will warn the policemen there, 'yung kasama ni Parojinog and his cahoots in the PNP and responsible for the deaths of the 6 soldiers before, you will have your comeuppance,” he said, referring to an earlier incident.
The Parojinog patriarch, Mayor Reynaldo Sr., his wife and 14 others were recently killed in a police raid at their homes in Barnagay San Roque Lawis.
His children- Vice Mayor Nova Parojinog and son Reynaldo Jr.- were also arrested and charged with drugs and weapons possession after the raid. : ]
