MANILA—A 5-magnitude earthquake struck off Northern Samar province early Saturday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor occurred at 1:28 a.m. at a depth of 20 kilometers northwest of Pambujan town.
Intensity 3 was recorded in Virac in Catanduanes while Intensity 2 was felt in Legazpi City in Albay and Sorsogon City.
Instrumental intensity 1 was also reported in Daet in Camarines Norte, Pili in Camarines Sur, Borongan City in Eastern Samar and Cebu City.
Phivolcs said the tremor will not cause damage, but may trigger aftershocks.
