Froilan Gallardo, ABS-CBN News/file photo</figcaption></figure></div>The Provincial Crisis Management Committee in Marawi City is urging the national government to create an inter-provincial security corridor in light of <a href='http://news.abs-cbn.com/news/07/29/17/southeast-asia-vows-cooperation-on-growing-isis-threat' target='_blank'>reports</a> that more ISIS extremists have allegedly infiltrated the country.The proposed corridor will allow security forces and local government authorities to cut supply and access routes of the terrorist group, especially throughout northern and central Mindanao.Zia Alonto Adiong, spokesman of the committee said extremists move within the island and only attacked Lanao del Sur to attract supporters to attack other areas of Mindanao."Nagmomove sila around, ginagawa lang initial salvo ang Lanao del Sur to attract other supporters outside and do attacks in other areas in Mindanao," he said. Adiong said they welcome any move of the government to send more police and soldiers in the province or the whole of Mindanao as an effect of the alleged presence of more ISIS members in the country."We do welcome kung meron additional na forces na ipapadala dito for as long as, ang concern ng civilians, hindi ito ang rason na magkaroon ng possible abuses of human rights," Adiong said.The proposed inter-provincial security corridor should also come with responsibility from local government units to share their intelligence information with other local governments to strengthen the corridor."It's going to be an exchange of intelligence information from one province to another," Adiong added.Clashes between state forces and Maute extremists have been going on for more than 2 months, leaving more than 600 dead, mostly terror suspects.It has also left much of the once bustling urban center in ruins, displacing more than 200,000 residents from the city and thousands more from nearby towns.
