Two COVID-19 cases were recorded at the House of Representatives involving staff assigned to the office of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, the House secretary general said in a statement Saturday.
“Two employees assigned at the Office of the Speaker tested positive for COVID-19," Atty. Jose Luis G. Montales confirmed.
This brought the total number of COVID-19 cases at Batasang Pambansa to 28.
Montales said the two underwent testing on July 25 after showing symptoms.
"Both last reported for work on July 16," he said.
"We reiterate that we shouldn’t let our guard down. We now face higher risk because the virus has spread in homes, workplaces, and communities. Please be extra cautious.”
