OZAMIZ CITY - Relatives of slain Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog who face illegal possession of firearms charges arrived in this city on Tuesday.
Manuelito and Rizalina Francisco were handcuffed and escorted by police officers when they were presented to the media.
Their son, June, will travel the following day since the airline will not accommodate three suspects in one flight.
The couple will be detained temporarily at the city police station while waiting for the court’s order for the change of venue of their court hearings from Ozamiz City to Manila.
Ozamiz police chief Jovie Espenido said Manuelito is a "remnant" of crime group Kuratong Baleleng and his participation includes robbery, murder.
Rizalina is the aunt of Parojinog, who was killed in a drug operation last year.
The couple and their son were arrested in La Union in April.
The Franciscos face 2 counts of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, but Espenido said additional murder raps will be filed against the 3.
Aside from their son June, two other children of the couple will also be facing the same charges.
Meanwhile, fugitive Ricardo ‘Ardot’ Parojinog will have to stay in Manila to face the criminal charges from CIDG National Headquarters for 3 counts of illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
As soon as he finished his case with CIDG he will be returned to Ozamiz to face charges for two counts of illegal possession of firearms and explosives and a murder case.
