MANILA—The southwest monsoon or habagat will bring rains in parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, and the Visayas on Saturday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region and the Visayas will experience cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms due to the habagat.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
The habagat season is characterized by warm moist winds from the southwest causing rains over the western portion of the country from May to September.
Weather specialist Meno Mendoza said no weather disturbances were forecast to affect the country over the weekend.
