MANILA - The Anti-Red Tape Authority on Wednesday told the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board to explain delays in the processing of permits for transport network vehicle services.
LTFRB Chair Martin Delgra was given 3 days to explain the delays, ARTA Director General Jeremiah Belgica told ABS-CBN News.
Failure to explain delays in the processing of permits could be tantamount to defying President Rodrigo Duterte's order to cut red tape, he said.
The ARTA would also look into possible corrupt practices within the LTFRB, he said.
About 30,000 ride-sharing cars went offline earlier this month in protest of "pahirap policies" allegedly implemented by regulators.
