MANILA - Renato Reyes of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan called out netizens for digitally altering photos of protests during Monday's State of the Nation Address (SONA).
Reyes took to social media to express his dismay after some groups manipulated photos of the protest to make it appear as if the crowd was supporting President Rodrigo Duterte.
"Duterte-Marcos supporters Photoshop anti-Duterte rally to deceive people. See the original photo and the altered. Anyare mga ka-DDS?" Reyes wrote in his caption.
The original photo, which Reyes posted on Twitter Monday night, showed people holding banners with "Itakwil ang Duterte CHA CHA" and "Labanan ang Diktadura."
The altered photo, on the other hand, shows the same crowd, but with "Itakwil ang Dilawan" and "Labanan ang Korapsyon" written on the banners.
Journalist Inday Espina Varona also called out netizens who claim the videos showing protesters were those of Duterte supporters.
"Nakakahawa ba ang pagka-kawatan? Check out what Marcos trolls are doing," she wrote in her caption.
Activists on Monday staged different protests ahead of Duterte's third SONA, while pro-Duterte supporters also gathered to show their support for the President.
