MANILA - President Rodrigo Duterte is offering a P1.3-million bounty for those behind the killing of 4 policemen in Ayungon, Negros Oriental.

Duterte, who initially offered a P1-million reward for the capture of those behind the crime, said Monday he would add another P300,000 if the mastermind is presented dead.

“Mas gusto kong patay sila. Kung patay sila magdagdag pa ako P300 [thousand] so its P1 million and 300 [thousand]. Just bring me the head of that idiot leader,” he told reporters after his fourth State of the Nation Address.

(I prefer them dead. If they are dead, I would add another P300,000, so its P1 million and 300 thousand.)

The four policemen were allegedly killed and tortured by members of the communist New People's Army (NPA) last Thursday in Ayungon.

The President on Saturday visited the wake of the policemen and gave the Order of Lapu-Lapu Rank of Kalasag medal to those slain: Police Cpl. Relebert Beronio and Patrolmen Raffy Callao, Roel Cabellon, and Marquino de Leon.
