DFA reports 9 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad; total now at 9,145

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Tuesday said there were 9 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) recorded among Filipinos abroad, raising the total to 9,145.

The DFA also reported 9 new recoveries and 1 new fatality.

Of the total cases, 3,131 are active while 5,369 have recovered. A total of 645 have succumbed to the disease. 

These cases are from 68 countries and regions.

The breakdown by region of those undergoing treatment is as follows: 148 in the Asia-Pacific; 484 in Europe; 2,380 in the Middle East and Africa; and 119 in the Americas.

In the Philippines, 70,764 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded as of Tuesday, of which 45,646 are active.

The infectious disease has claimed the lives of 1,837, while 23,281 have recovered.
