MANILA—A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck off Davao Oriental early Sunday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The tremor happened at 2:30 a.m., 19 kilometers southeast of Cateel town.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 31 kilometers, according to Phivolcs.
The tremor was not expected to cause damage and aftershocks.
Intensity III was felt in Lingig, Surigao del Sur while instrumental Intensity I was reported in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.
