CEBU - A Chinese woman arrested with 4.2 kilos of illegal drugs also sneaked in illegal drugs during her previous visits to Cebu, police said Thursday.
Zhou Liming, who came from Hong Kong and arrived in Cebu at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, was arrested after 11 large packs of suspected shabu were found in her possession.
According to Atty. Enrico Rigor, head of Legal and Investigation Division of the Philippine National Police Anti-illegal Drugs Group, said Zhou visited Cebu thrice prior to her arrest.
He added that in previous occasions, she also brought shabu with her.
Rigor said they already have the names of Zhou’s possible contacts in Cebu but declined to give more details.
Zhou will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. A case will be filed against her Friday. Once the case if filed, a commitment order will be issued and Zhou will be taken to the Lapu-Lapu City Jail.
Zhou came from China on board a Cathay Pacific flight. Her luggage went through the x-ray machine. Security personnel became suspicious of the content of her luggage, which prompted a K-9 unit to inspect it. A three-year-old Belgian Malinois, detected the illegal substance inside. Zhou was made to open the luggage and authorities found 11 large packs of shabu.
