MANILA– President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed YouTube sensation "Bogart the Explorer," Marco Ho in real life, as a member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

Duterte appointed Ho on July 12, a document released by Malacañang showed. Replacing board member Robert Ylagan, his term will expire on Sept. 30.

Ho first became famous for his YouTube travel videos where he speaks with an Australian accent, an apparent parody of the late Australian wildlife expert and show host Steve Irwin.

The comedian hails from Davao City, Duterte’s home city. He is also a co-host in the travel show of the President’s son, Sebastian.

Ho is not the only entertainment personality currently occupying a seat in the MTRCB. YouTube star James Ronald Macasero, also known as Moymoy Palaboy, singers Luke Mejares and Paolo Santos, and actor Dennis Padilla are also MTRCB members.

Communications assistant secretary Margaux Uson once held a seat at the board before she was appointed to her current post.
