ILOCOS SUR – A suspected drug pusher and gun-for-hire member was shot dead in Ilocos Sur.

Authorities were about to serve a search warrant on Roger Sinco's house in Sitio Padual, Barangay Pug os, Cabugao when the suspect tried to escape.

"Noong matunugan niya kami na papunta doon, dun siya tumakbo. Habang tumatakbo, nagkaroon ng fire fight. Gumanti ng putok ang mga pulis, hanggang masuon siya sa paanan ng bundok sa mismong bukid," said Police Senior Inspector Ramil Llarenas.

The suspect sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. He was brought to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police recovered two firearms from the suspect.

Inside his house, police also found one medium size plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing scale and small plastic sachet believed to be used for repacking, and a .38 revolver.

A motorcycle with no papers was also found in the premises.

Sinco, one of the members of a gun-for-hire group operating in the province and an alleged drug pusher, was being monitored by police.

"May five warrant of arrest siya: isa sa murder, tatlo para sa RA 9165 at isa sa direct assault of person in authority," said Llarenas.
