MANILA - Cotabato province on Friday reported 5 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, raising its total tally to 21.
Four of the new patients came from Manila and arrived in Cotabato on July 8, said Cotabato Health Emergency Manager board member Dr. Philbert Malaluan.
Three of them availed of the government's "Hatid Tulong" program, he added. The other patient flew on a commercial plane.
They are in stable condition and are recuperating in isolation facilities.
The fifth patient had a travel history from Davao City and arrived in Cotabato on June 26. She was admitted at the Cotabato Regional Medical Center after exhibiting cough and fever.
The 5 new patients came from the towns of Carmen, Midsayap and Pigcawayan.
To date, the province has 15 active COVID-19 cases, 5 recoveries and 1 fatality. It has extended its modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until July 31 to curb the spread of the virus.
In Soccsksargen, South Cotabato has the most number of coronavirus cases with 37, followed by Sarangani (33), Sultan Kudarat (27) and Cotabato Province (21).
