MANILA - Hours after Tropical Storm Henry exited the country, a low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted east of Tuguegarao City, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

In its 5 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said the LPA, which was spotted 805 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, is forecast to develop into a tropical depression within 36 hours. The storm will be given the name Inday.

Monsoon rains are expected in the Cagayan Valley, Cordillera, Ilocos region, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, CALABARZON and Mindoro.

The Bicol region, Marinduque, and Romblon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

PAGASA has also raised the orange rainfall warning level over Bataan and Zambales, where intense rains threaten flood-prone areas.

Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Bulacan, and Pampanga have been placed under the yellow warning level, which means heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying areas.

Heavy rainfall has already triggered floods and forced the cancellation of classes in several areas.
