A magnitude 4.4 earthquake shook the province of Masbate Monday afternoon.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) located the quake's epicenter at 16 kilometers northeast of Baleno town.
It was recorded at 4:43 p.m.
The quake, which is tectonic in origin, has a depth of 41 kilometers.
Intensity II was felt in Masbate City.
No aftershocks and damage is expected from the earthquake.
