MANILA - Two men were killed by unidentified gunmen in separate shooting incidents in Makati City on Sunday morning.

The first victim was found dead in Bernardino Street, Barangay Guadalupe Viejo.

Residents in the area said they saw four men on board motorcycles before hearing consecutive gunshots.

Village officials claimed the victim, identified as 29-year-old Warly Tante, was a known drug peddler and was allegedly behind a series of robbery hold-ups in the EDSA-Gaudalupe area.

Meanwhile, another victim was found dead in front of a carinderia located in the corner of Trabajo and JP Rizal streets in Barangay Olympia.

A witness said she heard four consecutive gunshots before finding the victim, Raphy Macaraig, sprawled outside the eatery.

Policemen tried but failed to catch the lone gunman.

Macaraig was a former drug dependent, his relatives admitted.

Police were still investigating the motive behind the shootings. -- With reports from Bianca Dava, ABS-CBN News; Hajji Kaamiño, DZMM
