STO TOMAS, Isabela - Four people were killed in an ambush here that set ablaze the victims' car in a cornfield, police said Saturday.

Village chairman Montano Zipagan, his daughter Joylyn, 12-year-old granddaughter Ira, and eight-year-old niece Jelaine were killed in the attack in Caniogan Abajo Sur village on Friday.

Zipagan's wife, Benita and their one-year-old granddaughter Terris, were being treated at the hospital, police said.

The unidentified attackers. bullets hit the vehicle's carburetor, setting it on fire.
