MANILA (UPDATE)—A boat carrying at least 21 people partially capsized en route from Northern Samar to Sorsogon Saturday afternoon as it encountered rough waters.
Lt. Commander Marlowe Acevedo, public information officer of Philippine Coast Guard—Bicol, said the boat was travelling back to Matnog town from Capul Island, Northern Samar, when big waves hit the vessel.
The boat was carried by the strong current to Bulusan town in Sorsogon.
According to a later advisory by Matnog Coast Guard, all 21 passengers were rescued.
The Coast Guard has yet to release information on the number of crew members.
