MANILA – Emergency and rescue personnel from the private sector and government sprang into action after sirens blared at exactly 4 p.m. Friday to signal the metrowide shake drill.
Since 2015, at least 17 cities in Metro Manila and nearby areas have been conducting annual earthquake drills in preparation for "The Big One," a high magnitude temblor that may originate from the West Valley fault, which stretches from Aurora to Laguna.
Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City served as the command center of the operation.
