MANILA — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported an additional 157 health workers who were infected with COVID-19 this week.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases among health workers to 3,643 as of July 10, based on DOH’s Sunday COVID-19 situationer report.
Meanwhile, there were only 65 new recoveries this week or a total of 2,750 recovered health workers.
The number of deaths remained at 34, while there are now 859 active cases.
Over the past weeks, the number of active cases among health workers has gone down.
The percentage of health workers compared to the total confirmed cases in the country has also gone down to 6.9% as of July 10.
Of the total infected, there are 1,293 nurses, 906 doctors, 253 nursing assistants, 155 medical technologists, 88 radiologic technologists, 62 midwives, 36 respiratory therapists, and 24 pharmacists.
There are also non-medical staff from health facilities included in the list: 244 administrative staff, 112 utility personnel, 53 dietary staff, 41 drivers, 37 barangay health workers, 25 security guards and 12 caregives.
